The main objective of MS811 is to try to prevent death and/or personal injury and damages to underground lines by alerting our members of excavation activities at or near their facilities, allowing them to locate and mark their facilities prior to excavation. We are a non-profit corporation campaigning to increase awareness and participation in our service to contractors, excavators, homeowners, etc. Our goal is: Zero Damages, Zero Injuries.

I work for the Highway Department and we always tell our crews that they need to call 811 but I’ve never had to do it myself until now. I hired a crew to come in and clean up an old home/lot that I purchased so I had to call for a locate. It was so super easy and the customer service women were so friendly. I did have an issue with the utility companies that came out ( or claimed to come and locate) they didn’t actually do their job and the operator ended up hitting a gas line.
