No residential treatment program is going to be perfect, but after looking into multiple options I chose this program for my child. Ultimately, when they came home they had mainly positive things to say about the program and most of the staff members. They have a number of organized outings and there was a good balance of therapy and social activities. As someone who has gone through this program twice in one year I can say many good things and many things that truly need to be fixed. Starting off with the negative, This place deserves not help treat anger issues or help with anger management. They claim that every emotion is valid but when it comes to anger you receive a response of shame and are treated as if your are a violent criminal, even if you do not threaten violence and have never been physical. I was in mission prep in April/may of 2025. I was extremely disappointed of my experience. I will keep this as short as possible. If you are thinking of sending your kid here, don’t. When I first got there I was placed with a therapist that had already put in his 2 weeks. I had 2 sessions with him, which he lied about the length of (said they were 45 mins, but a staff member confirmed with me that they were only about 15) before they gave me a different therapist. Don’t send your child here. This place is not good. I did my due diligence with trying the find the right RTC for my child and since I have voiced concerns and want to seek other help for my child they are holding my child so they can get more money and reporting me to CPS. I cannot stress enough this is the absolute wrong place to send your child. Don’t do it. They don’t require the children to participate in services. I hope my child will be able to come home soon so we can get the right treatment.
