About this business
This is a steep summit that offers spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay Area. Recommended for the serious hiker, it's approximately a five-hour hike to the top of the 2,999-acre park and back down again. Once on top you can see Mount Hamilton, the Santa Cruz Mountains, Mt. Tamalpais, Mt. Diablo and the Sierra Nevada. The park also provides a connection to other notable regional trails to hike including the Ohlone Wilderness Trail. It's mostly uphill and actually very steep. On the way down, it started to rain. So it took us just over 6 and a half miles and over 17,000 steps to complete the hike.
Challenging trail and beautiful in every way, must use hiking gear, boots and hiking poles,very important to be safe
We have hire many times initially back in the 90s when my kids were young. It’s a great group activity. We’ve done it with church groups and kids, clubs, etc.. It’s about 3 miles each way. Obviously the 3 miles up are harder than the 3 miles. Down and there are two ways to go up. One that is more direct with switchbacks and probably a little bit shorter and more difficult and another one. That is a smoother Rise And A little bit longer if you come from the Ohlone side.
