The year was 1992 when a talented Italian chef and his business partner opened the first Mio Vicino in it's current location on the corner of Benton and Monroe streets in old town Santa Clara. Their approach was simple: Create a place where anyone can stop in, enjoy the finest Italian food, a premium wine list, relax amid the buzzing atmosphere, and come away feeling like they've just visited an old friend for dinner

You can't go wrong at Mio Vicino in Santa Clara! The food is fresh and the flavors are amazing! Exactly what I'm looking for in a restaurant. A great local option.
Mio Vicino in Santa Clara... DO NOT DINE THERE. the general manager yelled at me when I asked him why our wait of 30 minutes turned into an hour. He threw his hands in the air, pointed at other customers, raised his voice loudly and thoroughly embarrassed my husband and I and our kids. After that hour wait and the total embarrassment we left and never ate dinner. Planning to call the owner on Monday. That guy should BE FIRED!!!
i love their greek pasta. my whole exstended family now goes.
Yummy Authentic Italian This is my favorite neighborhood Italian Restaurant. We always go here right after our Val-Pak arrives in the mail with a buy one get one half off coupon. It is worth paying the regular price, but the coupon sure is nice. All of the dishes are awesome here, and it is a great mid-week treat with your honey.
Good pasta Good pasta and good portion size for the price. Very small restaurant so if you go in a big in a big group, maybe limited seating area. Some of their specials are good to try depending on your taste.
Great Italian Food! With so many Italian restaurants in the area, it's hard for one to stand out for me. However, I've always liked Mio Vicino. It's a gem hidden in a old strip mall. Once you eat there, you're hooked. Everything taste so fresh and delicious.
Worst pasta/pizza place I ever went – I and my wife went there on a Friday night. We ordered a pasta and a pizza. The pasta is too expensive (~$15) given it's quantity and quality (angel hair pasta a little over-cooked). I'd rather go to Pomodoro or Cheese Cake Factory for pasta. The worst part is the pizza. It is under-baked and there are too much juice left on the pie. When I pull up a piece of pizza, the cheese and tomato just come off the slice and the slice was dripping! My wife decided to give it another chance by orde... read more
