Drove out to Wauna/Gig Harbor to pick up some fresh oysters from Minterbrook and had a really good experience. The process was super easy, prices were decent, and the oysters were incredibly fresh and delicious. Literally straight from the oyster fields and all still live when you buy them. We came from the Seattle metro, so it was about an hour drive for us, but if you’re already in the area, it’s definitely worth stopping by. Loaded up, all fresh!!
Giant Manila clams and also mussels as well as an assortment of oysters including Kumamoto… a bargain for the bounty we got to make a shellfish sauté back at our rental… don’t miss out on this gem
What a cool spot. Oysters are just delicious. Sweet, fresh, and have a hint of the flavor of the part of the Sound where they are cultivated. Somewhat comparable to kumamotos (which they also sell). Might be my favorite oysters from the PNW.
Great place to buy your fresh shellfish. Bring ice and a cooler
