As part of my employer's employee assistance program, Mines offered to find me a mental health therapist who could work around my schedule. After 2.5 months they have sent me only two therapist's info and one of them does not work later on weekdays, which was one of my requirements. I had a similar experience back in 2017 when Mines sent me a page of therapists to contact. Not one of the therapists that I left msgs for called me back. I submitted an electronic intake form and never heard from anyone. Considering this is an EAP program and someone could be in real distress, this is a problem. When I called to follow up, their phone mail system asks the caller to be patient while they navigate the Corona crisis. Hello? This is 2023. You should have already navigated the crisis! How can I trust my mental health to these people when there's no follow up and their voicemail is ridiculously out-of-date?

My insurance said I could get a couple of free sessions through this company. So I thought I would call to see if I could make an appointment with a psychiatrist/therapist because I was suicidal at the time. I called crying and asking for help because I had just cut myself a couple of times down my arms. The woman seemed nice, but then she transferred me to some other woman who acted like she didn't care and it was no big deal.
