In a town full of opal shops, Miners Direct stands out. George Kountouris is a miner who sells his own opals, and the sheer variety of shapes, colors, sizes is something to behold. I love the opalized fossils myself - he has quite a collection. We had a great conversation about them - if you're genuinely interested in opal, he's a living encyclopedia on the subject. I bought a couple pair of opal stud earrings for my nieces - they're going to love them!
