Dr. Kim initially diagnosed me with costochondritis, which is often considered a broad or non-specific diagnosis aka bucket diagnosis. I had mentioned slipping rib syndrome (SRS) to him, but he claimed I did not have it and seemed somewhat unfamiliar with the condition itself. The physical evaluation I underwent with Dr. Kim was very tender and exacerbated my symptoms for weeks. I was referred to Dr Kim about two years ago with a difficult case of Esophageal Cancer. He was a straight shooter regarding my situation and the proposed surgery.
