great place for fresh food – able to relax and have a wonderful breakfast and lunch
a sad mother's day tale – We would like to bring to your attention one of the most unpleasant experiences we had at the Mimi’s Café located on 1200 El Paseo De Saratoga, San Jose, CA. The incident happened this past Mother’s day. We, a group of 3 families with a total of 11 people, went for brunch to the Mimi’s Café at the above location. The brunch was supposed to be a Mother’s Day surprise from the children to each of their respective mothers. One of the children called the Mimi’s Café the previous night to make a reservat... read more
Exception chain and worth going again and again. – Sort and sweet. This is the only restaurant I have ever given a 5 star rating. I should note that now over time I have dropped that rating down to a four star. Still good, but not perfect. I have eaten here more than 100 times and only had two disappointments. Coming from a demanding SOB that's saying something. The two times I have had an issue with the food, the management has been right there and took care of it professionally and with humility. The food is consistent and... read more
Bad Service – The service was terrible, and the decor was old and dirty. We had to wait for more than 30 min for our food, and then it came wrong. We were in a hurry, and they did not seem to care. Very negative experience.
Breakfast what Breakfast?? – While on vaction we were looking for a breakfast place to grab something quick before making the drive up to Pike's Peak. When we first enetered the seating room was decorated very nice. As they took us to our seats the room was very old fashion(like it was decorated 15 yrs ago and never updated) When we sat down we began to examine the room. The vents were covered in dirt and dust and the shades on the window looked like they had never been cleaned/ After ordering our food (with specific directi... read more
Service needs improvement – March 29, 2009 - This was our first time dining at this restaurant -- we had family (grandparents and parents) from out of town and wanted to show them some nice eateries in Austin. Given that it was Sunday brunch, we suspected it might be crowded and had called ahead for reservations for a party of 9 @ 12:30pm and were told we'll be the first in line when we arrive. We arrived at 12:20p and waited and waited... by 1pm, 3 of us had to leave (due to prior engagements) so now we are down to a party ... read more
Cheerful staff and delicious food – I highly recommend for breakfast, although I have dined here for lunch and dinner too. They have a great menu for all times of the day. I usually get a french toast dish. They orange flavored french toast is great! They have wonderful pasta dishes too for lunch and dinner. The decor is fantastic. New Orleans style and French (obviously). It is a large restaurant with a lot of seating areas. Sometimes there can still be a wait though, especially for breakfast and lunch I have observed. They... read more
Atmosphere rules at this French New Orleans-themed spot that serves traditional American fare. – In Short Decorated like a French country bistro with jazzy New Orleans overtones, Mimi's Café was named after a lost love of Arthur Simms, who started the restaurant in 1978 in Anaheim, Calif., with his family. The ambience could only be upstaged by the menu filled with traditional American favorites. Breakfast includes omelets, waffles, muffins and fresh-squeezed juices, while lunch and dinner feature comfort-food classics like ... read more
