78 yrs old and I was bleeding a lot. Toilet full of blood from every urination. Dr. Mills said urine did not show cancer cells. About 5-6 months later, I’m in hospital having lost half of my hemoglobin. He’s called in to operate and gives me a cancer diagnosis. Doesn’t tell me who I should see. I ask him while in hospital. He says go to MSK. He was my urologist for kidney stones for decades. He offered nothing to me. This was during Covid. I was petrified. Urologists at Stonybrook wanted to remove my kidney. Dr Mills saved that kidney and I’ve been fine ever since. He is a wonderful doctor. Don’t expect cuddles but expect expert knowledge!!!
Bed side manner old school and non compassionate
One of the best doctors I’ve had. He and his staff went beyond helpful and flexible to handle my situation to solve the problem. The doctor personally called with test results nights and weekends in a few cases. He cares about his patients.
Really competent and knowledgeable doctors are not easy to find these days. People seem to want charm and bed side manner rather than someone who can actually help them. I give Dr Mills 5 stars for a reason. He is the best at doing the job I needed done. I am grateful my primary doctor recommended him.
He's not Mr. Personality. Seems competent.
Dr. Mills might be a good surgeon but he has an attitude that just doesn't quit. He is nasty and rude and seems like he can't be bothered to explain things to the patient. I have never dealt with a surgeon before and after him, I hope I never again have to. I would never recommend him to anyone.
Excellent, experienced doctor.
This Dr. has all the credentials and experience you want but he isn't a good listener and has no bedside manner and its time to retire. The office staff is fine it is not them it is him, and he makes mistakes in judgement that effect peoples health
