My thanks to the Miller Keystone Blood Center staff at the Plainfield Township Volunteer Fire Company. They play an important role in saving lives. They made my donation experience comfortable, made me feel appreciated and I was well cared for.
I recently went to visit my sister in Pittsburgh. She needed an infusion at the doctor's office. There were @ 4 patients receiving some treatment in the room. As I waited I conversed with the group. Somehow the topic of platelets and plasma came up. A gentleman named Ken heard me say I frequently donate. He lit up and thanked me for saving his life. I donated platelets after receiving a text for the urgent need of platelets. I was also able to donate red blood cells. I went to the Plainfield Township Fire Company to make my donations. I was fortunate to get the first appointment after they opened. My phlebotomist,Lauren, was super friendly. I am thrilled that I am able to give so little of my time to contribute to the well being of others.
Always meet the friendliest folks when I donate. I have given over 17 Gallons of blood, 1 to the Red Cross in New Jersy and the rest here. I have not had a bad experience with any of my donations. They can calm any nervousness you may have about donating.
Thank you to the staff and volunteers for all you do on behalf of all of us! To make a positive difference in the lives of others is one of the greatest accomplishments in one's life. MKBC does that every hour of every day!
