Imagine this...hand rolled frozen croissants that you put out on the counter on a Friday night, and in the morning they have risen into a beautiful form, you then slip them into the 350 degree oven for about 15 minutes and you have just saved $1200 on a plane ticket to Paris, because these babies are every bit as good as what I found in France a few years ago. And at the Milk Pail you can also find about 400 cheeses that you can sneak into those freshly baked croissants on a cozy weekend morning!

Great fresh fruit and vegetables The Milk Pail offers a great selection of high quality fruits and vegetables. In addition, they also have oils, breads, etc. The store is very small and tends to be hard to maneuver but is definitely worth the inconvenience for the selection.
Great prices but you have to pay attention The Milk Pail carries a great selection of very fresh produce, cheese and they get fresh deliveries of bread daily. The prices as displayed are often better than the big grocery stores, but you have to keep track of what you are buying charges. The cashiers are always in a hurry and have to to know the prices and I get the wrong price charged regular. It can get very crowded and the aisles are packed tight. Sometimes you don't get trough with your shopping cart.
Flavored yoghurt in larger cartons The Milk Pail is the only place I've found that sells fruit-flavored yoghurt in 32 oz. containers. Their cheese selection is always wonderful, and they have a refrigerated case near the checkout area for cheese specials--always worth a look. As stated above, their produce is quite fresh and is usually less expensive than Safeway's. Try to go at mid-morning or mid-afternoon when it isn't so crowded.
This place is a treat. Many cheeses from so many different places, vegetables that are lovely and fresh. Their bake at home croissants are sold in a 6 pack and a 12 pack and are incredible! Fresh milk, butter. They recently remodeled and it looks nice and the cashier line is better flowing.
good prices and very good selection I buy 3 bags of groceries there every Monday and it costs $20 or less!! that includes raisins! Good, fun place. Clerks are nice or nicely neutral ( the girls with facial piercings are all gone now..maybe back to prison) The roma tomatoes in the last couple weeks were the best I ever had. Russian rye bread, special cheeses, special snack foods all prices much lower that Safeway. Compare yellow onion prices...4x more across street at Safeway.
Buyer Beware - Large Erroneous Charges at the Register I went to the milk pail for the first time yesterday. I was underwhelmed because three bags of groceries cost $156.00. After I left the store (I was in a rush, preparing for a dinner party), I examined my bill closely and discovered I was mischarged for one "frozen item" at $89.00. This was an enormous error. When I called to alert the manager, he said it was my fault because I should have known how much the groceries should cost. Since it was my first time there, I did ... read more
fresh and nice great place for fresh vegetables. ample parking space. located close to other departmental stores, so make it a one stop for all your household needs.
. small fruit and vegetable and milk store. Also has some specialty ethnic products and decent prices. The store is conveniently located,. The store is pretty small, so it's kind of crammed. It offers good prices (like strawberries) so there are a lot of people. Definetly a better place to go for produce than large grocery stores, because of the prices.
Provides European "Open-Market" for produce, dairy, breads, cheeses, etc. Convenient open-air atmosphere. Wide selection of international cheeses. Negatives: limited parking, crowded, long lines and poor design for check-out stands.
