Dr. Mikulak is a doctor who is incredibly knowledgeable about your hip and knee. He is a doctor who tries to become your "Coach". He guides you in getting knowledgeable about your condition(s). His patience is a virtue. Dr. Mikulak is a sports knowledgeable doctor and can understand the importance of not-giving-up on your sport due to your injuries. He is not the type that would tell you, " If it hurts, stop doing it). Its more likely, If it hurts, lets answer some questions to see if its some technique problem you are doing... read more
First & foremost on your mind should be his surgical expertise. Dr. Mikulak pioneered the surgical process he uses which is different from most others and creates no damage to existing muscles, etc. I had my right hip totally replaced through a literal 3" perfect horizontal incision on the bottom right side of my hip/buttocks. Not noticeable at all. More importantly was the recovery process. I was terrified of doing this and just wanted my life back. I was afraid that wouldn't happen. I used to walk outside about 2.5 miles a... read more
Dr. Mikulak Is practically famous for being the best hip replacement surgeon in this area, but he’s also particularly great at knees. He did a minimally –invasive total knee replacement for me for years ago. Most important result? I ran a half marathon 4 months later. Over the last four years, I can honestly say I’m barely aware that my knee was replaced except that it’s as good as it was when I was 20. And I’m 62. And very active
Dr. Mikulak is the best orthopedic surgeon for your knees. He’s had one himself so he really does understand the whole process. He and his assistant Mike are really knowledgeable and educated. They make sure they answer any questions you might have and truly take every patients needs seriously. They even call themselves to check on you. If I could give them more stars I would. Thank you for giving me my life back with my new knee.
I am a 79 year old man. Yesterday was my 15 year anniversary of my bilateral knee replacement. I have had 0% problems with my knees. They are as good as the day they were installed. Dr Mikulak has been the best choice for my surgery . I am very grateful for his great work. Peter Smith
Absolutely amazing. Total hip replacement. Never one moment of pain. Very small incision. Rapid healing. Caring, concerned doctor. Post surgery care was outstanding. I cannot recommend this doctor highly enough. His entire staff reflected the same care and concern throughout my surgery and recovery.
Dr. Mikulak performed a complete knee replacement on me just 9 days ago. I am 80 years old and was walking the following day ... with NO pain. Today I am still pain free and take Tylenol every six hours ... never took oxycodene ... and my knee has been beunding with no problem. I am grateful to have had Dr. Mikulak and his assistant, Mike, who closed up my incision w/plastic surgery. Not cutting down the front of the leg and through the knee cap made the difference. Investigate for yoursel
I am 73 years old/young. Knees injuries from soccer, hockey and tennis. Dr. Mikulak performed 1st TKR Left 7 years ago. It was very good. My 2nd TKR Right I had 6 days ago. Surgery 4/5/18 Thursday. Released from hospital the next day, Friday. Saturday came physical therapist, Monica to my house. Started exercising. Sunday-Wednesday exercising. Every day taking only: 1 Tylenol for pain, 1 Feldene for inflammation, and 1 Aspirin 81mg. Today, 4/11/18 Wednesday walked 1/2 mile, with many stairs.
Dr. Mikulak uses a posterior approach, but he has refined his technique such that it is minimally invasive, cuts no muscle, and involves very little pain afterward. I have used Tylenol only since the surgery, and the PT says I am ahead of schedule in my recovery. Surgery is usually scheduled within two weeks of the consultation, instead of 2-3 months with other surgeons. There may be other choices which rank highly as well, but Dr. Mikulak and his team are in the elite best few.
