RecommendedI have had my car repaired at Mike’s more than several times over the past 10 years and can only say good things about the people who work there and the work they do. It’s usually finished the same day or early the next. They always call and tell me whats wrong with it, how much it will cost and when it will be ready. I have never been disappointed. I highly recommend Mike’s Transmission.
Had Mike's Transmission check out my Dodge Ram 2500 4X4, this morning. I had the transmission installed at another shop closer to my home. 7 weeks later I still had issues! Mike checked it out, called his buddy at a diesel shop, and told me he thought my problem was air related. DID NOT EVEN CHARGE ME. Took it home, pulled off some parts so I could see, and there it was, the other shop forgot to reconnect one side of the inter-cooler . I used to love this place. Now not so much. My car has sat there for 4 days and I am picking it up with the same problem I dropped it off with. I have repeatedly stated that they WILL NOT hear the noise I described with the brake system cool. I realize that they do not have the time to run the car until it is warm, however I have asked 3x now... 3 days in a row to please check the rear brakes, wheel bearings, and calipers. Best mechanic I've ever had. Fixed everything for me from rebuilding transmissions to rear breaks on all my oldie vehicles. Have been seeing Mike for 10 years now and can't thank them enough for the miles I've been able to drive and money saved.
About two weeks ago I got the call no LSU dad ever wants to get: “Dad, the car is making a funny noise and it won’t go. Could it be the transmission? What should I do?” My wife and I do our best to supply our daughter with the safest, most reliable transportation we can afford, “afford” meaning we couldn’t send her to Baton Rouge in a car as new as we’d have liked. My taxi cab was making a horrible squealing sound. I took it to a transmission mechanic who drove it around the block and claimed the planetary gears were bad and that the transmission would have to be rebuilt, $1,500.00 !!! Another cab owner suggested I take it to Mike because he is honest. Mike drove my taxi long enough to hear the noise. He said he would have to drop the transmission pan to investigate more. He called me 2 days later to tell me that the transmission was fine and that the filter was somehow being sucked up... read more
