I've been taking various bikes to Mike's ever since they were on Pearl and I will continue to take my bikes there. They do a great job!
Great shop, Mike and co are always really friendly and patient with customers that might not know much about motorcycles. Prices are very reasonable, and there never seems to be a push for more work than needs to be done. I still go to them even if it is not as convenient for me (work now further away).
Needed a new tire on my older bike. There are not a lot of options around anymore in the size I want (another local shop mounted a "front only" tire last time and didn't change the orientation as needed) Although they don't mount customer purchased tires, I can't fault them for this as this seems to be the norm. If you run a business, you can choose what services you offer. They did locate and order an appropriate tire on Wednesday, and I was advised it may not arrive until the next week. This was my second time using Mike's services, and though he seems a bit gruff on the phone, he's nice and helpful and friendly in person, and has done me well both times. The first time I was in a bit of a time crunch and he made it happen. The second was just replacing breaks and I have absolutely no complaints. Was done on time and done well.
Mike is a great guy who will talk your through the various options and troubleshoot the real cause of the problem before making a blanket diagnosis and attempting a fix through expensive trial and error replacements. I had some trouble with a burnt out stator, and then a burnt out replacement stator, and mike was willing to work with me on the installation cost (even though he had to do the install both times due to the faulty part). I recommend him to all my friends.
