Terrible place with horrible rules. You lose points if you do something wrong. It’s not a good place for therapy if you’re doing the day treatment program. You have to raise your hand all the time and if you don’t have enough points they don’t feed you much. They use a rewards system to get you to behave, which it doesn’t work. Although mikan at one point might have been really good for people, when I attended it wasn’t good. Staff have used harmful therapeutic methods including lying and manipulation to get the children to talk. Forcing children to discuss trauma they aren’t comfortable discussing at the time. Using methods similar to attack therapy. They also use a lot of methods of behaviorism. The worst therapy place ever. The male therapists stare down the teenage girls in mikan. They get upset with us for minimizing or overgeneralizing situations when it's all they do. If you want to learn what a hypocrite is then go to mikan, they set an amazing example of it. I went there for not even 4 months and my mental health went downhill after going to mikan, I don't recommend it for anyone.
