Had a great experience with deliveries of both my kids. Epidural cost was right around 1200$(we pay most of our expenses too). I wonder if unbiased1 also had a c-section which increases cost of epidurals, or if the epidural was in for a really long time since they bill for monitoring too.
They provided an effective epidural. However, before administration of the epidural, we asked about the cost as we are self-pay patients. We were told that it would be roughly the same cost as last year ($1,100). That was well worth the cost for the pain relief. We proceeded. Thought all was well, until 2 months later when we received a $4,300 bill! We called to correct the mistake, and spoke to a rude person who treated us like dirt.
