I cannot give a review on their products. I can only give a review on the service we received while in their showroom...Terrible. When it seems like an inconvenience for the person to even give you any information on their products it make you walk right out the door.

We bought a Fireplace Xtraordinaire for a home we built fifteen years ago. The unit was purchased from Western Fireplace, who is no longer in business. The unit has performed admirably until this season when work was required. I called Midwest Fireplace and scheduled work to be done. It s my understanding that Midwest Fireplace is a family owned business. I scheduled work to be performed through Dave, the owner. After the initial visit by the technician we soon had the same problem. In all, it took three visits to repair our... read more

My name is Dave Lapine, I own Midwest fireplace. In response to the two negative reviews posted about my company. The customer dcook purchased a pellet stove that was defective from the factory. Before a manufacturer will replace a stove, they request that it 1st be repaired in the field, which we were not able to do after several attempts. So we had to process warranty claim forms to get them a new stove which unfortunatley took longer than it should have. But we did get the customer a newer model stove which is working lik... read more

I contacted Mr. Lapine about repairing the top of my chimney (the chimney cap had over time separated, thus making the chimney subject to water damage). I had trouble connecting with Mr. Lapine - from the time I first contacted him to the time we actually arranged for the work was almost six weeks. Some of this was my fault, but I was annoyed that it took so long for him to respond to some of my email inquiries. Be that as it may, the price he offered to replace the cap was reasonable, so I asked him to come on out. I was no... read more

I agree with the other review of this company. I have gotten service from them, but it took 6 phone calls in one day with increasing rancor on my part. I needed a new glass panel for the door on my stove and they insisted they couldnt get one in for a week or more. It took 5 phone calls to get them to agree to order the panel. Then when I called back the 6th time to see if they could ship it my house, all of a sudden they had one that I could come and pick up. Once they get your money in their hands, youre of no further inte... read more

Much like the below review, I had a positive experience with John. I recently moved into a home with a vented gas log fireplace. After having a problem with it, I spoke with John in the store. He was able to explain to me how the pilot light burner assembly works and likely causes for my issue. Due to what he told me, I was able to disassemble the unit and fix it myself. I would definitely consider using Midwest Fireplace in the future, as they even helped me when I had not bought from them. Thanks, John!

We purchased a pellet stove from Midwest Fireplace. It has never worked correctly. They finally came out to service it in December and it still didnt work right. Weve left three messages for them, but they have never called us back. The services has been non-existent and the individual we dealt with was rude. After spending almost \$4,000 you would expect to be treated better than this. I would recommend using another dealer.

I recently moved to the Kansas City area from Wisconsin. The home I purchased had a Superior brand gas fireplace. I wanted to add a blower, so I found Midwest Fireplace in the phone book. When I went into the store, I was greeted promptly. The person that helped me, John Lapine, was very knowledgable and helpful. He even went out of his way to explain how to install the blower as well as explain other things about the fireplace to ensure proper operation. I was very impressed with the excellent customer service I recieved an... read more
