I brought our cockatiel in due to fast and heavy breathing. They placed him on oxygen and ran a swab from his mouth. He was found to have a pretty severe bacterial infection and a fungal infection and started him on antibiotics immediately. He spent 3 nights in the hospital where they also discovered he had an enlarged heart. The staff was absolutely wonderful when we would come at night to visit! We have been bringing our macaw to this veterinary practice since she was about 6 months old, and she is now 5-6 years old. Because of that long relationship, deciding to seek care elsewhere is not something we take lightly. Earlier this year, we brought our macaw in for an ongoing feather plucking issue.
