Highly recommended – I was actually shocked when I saw the negative comments...and felt compelled to set the record straight. I have been going to both Dr. Schaeffer and Dr. Sheiner since 1994 and have nothing but praise for them and their office staff
Good Doctor and Helpful Staff! Stop Tripping – I read all the horror stories about visits to Midtown Medical and I am truly shocked! I've been a patient of Midtown for many years and outside of changing from one doctor to the other, I've had no problems with the office, the doctors and/or staff and I even get my prescriptions renewed via telephone if needed! I find the staff very helpful and accommodating and Dr. Scheiner is the best and spends time discussing your condition and going over test results, etc. He's caring and ... read more
Great place to be abused – I wish I had read reviews before I went here. The staff is rude and incompetent, the doctor I saw was pleasant but kept yelling at one of the aides to "find that sonogram." Stay away.
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL – If i could give this place a negative rating i would. first of all, the office staff is awful. and it's true about the wait. when y ou are on your lunch hour who has an hour just to wait to get seen. getting a refill filled - forget about it. they make you come in before they will call it in. all so they can get reimbursed for the visit. i needed a refill that i ran out of and they asked me why i would wait so long - like i did it on purpose. then i met with the dr. one time and he was eating his lunch whi... read more
Avoid! – IF YOU WANT TO GET GOOD HEALTH CARE DO NOT GO TO MIDTOWN MEDICAL! This is a "medical mill" they are not interested in getting you better they are interested in making money off your insurance. Dingy offices, unprofessional and unorganized staff and uncommunicative and overworked "doctors". An aggravating waste of time.
Such a hassle! DON'T GO HERE!! – Anything I try to do with Midtown Medical is a hassle. Doctors only work certain days of the week, their hours are late in the morning and close early (My doctor works Monday and Wednesday, 10-5 only, which is totally inconvenient for any working New Yorker!!) and when you arrive, they keep you waiting for hours. Not recommended – My experience with Midtown Medical was dissapointing and needlessly expensive. I went in for a routine physical, seeking advice on general healthy living. The doctor recommended bloodwork, which turned out to NOT be covered by my insurance company (something the doctor should have alerted me to). The results of the bloodwork turned out to be completely clean, but the doctor made me schedule a follow-on to "go over the results" and charged me an additional $200 for that appointment -- not to mention the wast... read more
