Our recent experience with inpatient care has been deeply distressing and unacceptable. My stepmother was left in a side ward with no consultant taking accountability for her care. Multiple planned MDT meetings were either cancelled without notice or simply ignored, with staff failing to turn up entirely. Midland Met Hospital need to work on their communication skills and customer service, my 90 year old mother was admitted into this hospital and trying to get any information from doctors and nurses is diabolical. I tried to phone at 11.30am one morning, no reply, I was still trying at 3pm!!!! Eventually at 3.30on someone picked the phone up then when I asked about my mother I was told to "hang on"...... I was still "hanging on" 30 minutes later!!!! I hung up and tried again...... Guess what??? No answer........ A&E misdiagn... read more

No eTriage exists at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital https://econsult.net/urgent-care If Midland Met want to reduce waiting times within A&E Department then it should be looking to implement e-Triage QEHB introduced this system for their A&E, making a huge difference regarding waiting times. It may be a new hospital built by Balfour Beatty like Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) but it's certainly not on the same standard of medical care.
