The physicians at Gastro Health Cincinnati (Mercy) are great. However, I will never go back to them because of their billing department. I have paid my bill, yet I got constant emails saying that a balance was due. i contacted them by phone and was told that they have no record of my payment. I sent a copy of my credit card statement showing that it had been paid. I received another bill, and this time I paid by check. (probably paid the same bill twice now). The most unfriendly, antisocial, absolutely worst bedside manner by far I've ever experienced from a real doctor. No smile, no manners whatsoever. If you want to feel like you're completely unimportant and in fact unwelcome. It's doctors with this level of arrogance that should not be doctors at all.

If you can go ANYWHERE else do it! The patient communication is terrible to non-existent. The billing is a nightmare. I was billed a second time, a year after my procedure. They told me both the Dr and the facility (which they do not own) get to bill for the procedure. I paid half the second bill and then it disappeared off the billing site! My experience as a patient with Dr. Carp and his office, over the past 20 years, has been excellent. He has proven to be extremely thorough, intelligent and thoughtful in his treatment and follow up and I highly recommend him and his professional services.

The doctors are great, the office staff is a disaster. They schedule appointments and then reroute you to wherever they want. Incompetent's at its best. Doctor rating = 5; Office = 0
I was told that he thought I might have a very serious, unique diagnosis a while back. I made a recent appointment to question this doctor about it. I asked why he believed this diagnosis over a more common one with same symptoms...Not a hard question. He acted annoyed and like I was bothering him. It would have taken 2 minutes to explain from his "expertise" why he thought this. Hopefully you are reading this rating before you do any business at all with is this medical practice. They claimed to be covered 100% in network, but they farm out 50% of the procedure to a business partner (Tranquil Anesthesia) that is not covered. I am still being billed for approx $6,000 several months later. When you try to reach an actual person at the patient advocate line to resolve the issue, you cant get anyone.
