I was a customer for 20 years and loved everything about the idea of a small town bank, lately they started expanding and making up the rules as they go along so I am slowly transitioning to fifth Third they have superb customer service. I have also spoken to several Amish in the community who say that they are very unhappy with Middlefield bank as well and many of them are pulling their money out.
My mortgage bank was taken over by Middlefield Bank in early 2023. My mortgage account transfer was botched. I can no longer pay my mortgage online unless I open a checking account with Middlefield. Tried option after option. They botched it on so many levels, nothing works which we discovered after HOURS of phone calls. I do not need another checking account to manage and pay fees on so I won't open another. Now I either drive to the bank or send a check each month.
