My 13 year old cat, Max, went in for the radioactive iodine treatment after being diagnosed with thyroid disease a few months ago. I came from Ellicott City to bring him to this Center as the reviews and communication from the staff here were excellent. They were able to review all his records and coordinate with his vet to get the info they needed so we did not need to bring Max in for an initial consult, which was appreciated as it's a bit of a drive, and he would not have enjoyed the trip. Instead, any additional tests an... read more

This is the second cat I've had that needed I-131 treatment for hypothyroidism. She got very good care, and so did I! The staff was so nice and helpful and the process was incredibly well organized and smooth. My questions were always answered promptly, and they worked very well with my regular vet. I could even watch Maggie in her enclosure while she was in there via a video link. Mid Atlantic Feline Thyroid Center is the only radioiodine treatment center in the region that is operated by a board certified feline specialist... read more

Thank you to Dawn and everyone at the thyroid center who did a wonderful job taking care of my cat Bonnie. I had such peace of mind knowing she was in a caring environment designed for cats and for this specific treatment. It was also so comforting to be able to check the webcam anytime and see her. No other facility in the region offers that. From the time I first emailed to the treatment day was only about a month, so no long waitlist like some other places. While Bonnie was not a fan of the three hour ride, it was well wo... read more

This is one of those places that I couldn’t wait to write the review on. My sweet Evelyn was diagnosed as hyperthyroid after I brought her in to our usual vet for bloodwork due to unexplained weight loss. She is the sweetest 13yo girl - wouldn’t hurt a fly but she gets very scared, which breaks my heart because I can’t reassure her. Our regular vet gave us a list of places (which MAFTC was on), but I was immediately drawn here. Call me a crazy cat lady (toxoplasmosis is no joke y’all), but I could just tell that MAFTC was sp... read more

Wonderful experience with Mid Atlantic Feline Thyroid Center. They took very good care of my Amber girl. They were amazing from start to finish. Their communication is fabulous. They truly care about each of their patients. They take time to explain everything to you and answered all of my questions. The care they put into taking care of the kitties is phenomenal. I got to watch my kitty on the kitty cam anytime I wanted. I drove 2 hours to take my kitty here and would do it again. I highly recommend them if your cat needs t... read more
