I fell at Panda Express,. head first into a wall and split my forehead open😊. Now that laughs are over, I was lucky because it could have been worse. I received quick attention at Novant Emergency and was made to feel comfortable as a nurse stitched up the cuts. Couldn’t have been an easier experience and after making sure I was ok to be discharged, I was allowed to leave. As I live in the North part of Lancaster County, it’s nice to know Novant is there for me.
Significantly delayed bill came after we already paid our ER copay. After discussing with Mid-Atlantic, Novant Health, and my insurance, it is because the attending is not part of Novant but basically contracted to the hospital. Pretty obscene to charge outside of the high ER co-pay, simply because the attending, who was mediocre (my wife is a PA-C in the ED and was shocked by the superficial level of service provided), is not part of the hospital itself.
I think I finally figured this one out. I went to the ER, waited 1½ hours, saw a triage nurse, waited 1½ hours, was wheeled into a room and told to talk to TeleMed, had blood taken, waited another 1½ hours, had a chest x-ray I didn't need, waited another 1½ hours, saw a doctor, was given steroids, antibiotics, and sent home. Predatory and unjust billing practices. These people should be ashamed to call themselves doctors. Feels almost fraudulent. Question to the people who work here - do you feel good about yourselves, reading what people have written here?
