Found a bacteria that other testing methods like culturing had not shown for 10 months. This led my provider to alter my treatment. I’m so grateful that I found out about MicrogenDX and decided to take their test despite my doctors telling me it wouldn’t make a difference. I recommend this to anyone who is having complicated infections.
I had a life threatening staph infection that was undiagnosed for 6 weeks. For 6 weeks I was on the wrong antibiotics and suffered so many unnecessary side effects from them. I was tested about 6 times at the hospital and doctor’s office, all of which showed negative results. NGS found staph on the first try and I was able to immediately correct my medication and begin recovery.
Don’t use Micro-gen. There are several others that do the same test and will be covered by your insurance. Micro-gen does not. It’s expensive and I have used 3 other companies and this is the only one that does not deal with insurance
This company is an absolute GAME-CHANGER for UTI diagnosis and treatment. If you've had more than one UTI, this test may be of utmost importance to you. Petri dish culture technology (invented in the year 1887) is still being used by hospitals, emergency rooms, urgent cares, and likely your Primary Care Physician. I imagine the Microgen DX DNA testing will completely replace all this antiquated Petri dish testing in the next few years. This is an amazing company. It has the best customer service. I was ill and having difficulty following directions. I called to get clarification and Lauren Armstrong helped me. She walked me through all of the details, corrected my errors, called me back when needed and was overall delightful. Customer Service is so important to any company, and have the best!
