Nice, minimalist lightweight helmet. It fits well shipped quickly. However, my motivation for this review happened last Friday. I crashed my road King at over 50mph, I lost control of the motorcycle and slid a dozen or so yards before my bike slammed into a pickup truck. I didn’t even know that I hit my head until I saw the scratches on my Micro DOT. I’m glad I was able to walk away from the crash with nothing more than road rash, bruising, and a broken thumb. I purchased 2 helmets from MicroDot and the helmets were recalled for the following reason; MicroDOT Helmet Co. has decided that its Blister Original, Twister Original, and Twister 2.0 ABS with model numbers XR-205 or KY-609 motorcycle helmets fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 218. Specifically, the designated Twister and Blister style helmets are defective because the manner of construction leaves the helmets vulnerable to punctures in a manner that is below the minimum acceptable failure rate pur... read more
