Had to go in on 6/2 due to an eye injury. The doctors were professional and helped me quickly. My issue however was when I was leaving. Per the woman checking me in I had to pay my deductible before I would be allowed to leave. An amount of $85.82. I am used to receiving a bill in the mail some time after an appointment with my insurance adjusted amount and communicated that to the woman at the counter. I always know I'm getting a thorough eye exam when I go to MEI. !! And if you have the unfortunate incident where you need to get in immediately for an emergency .....they get you in.!!
Really mad, they make you come and scan your own cards now with your phone and do all this bullshit on your phone just to get checked in. What the hell am I paying for?
Their customer service is ridiculous. Had a woman tell me my exam was covered but I should call my insurance to see if I’d have to pay for glasses. Turns out I’m covered. I call back only to speak to a guy saying I might not be covered even though I gave him the same information I gave the woman. She checked and said I was good. I asked the guy to check and he said there was no way he could do that. Please tell your customer service to get their stories straight. I wasted 15 minutes of my life to get absolutely nowhere.
The care is wonderful. Scheduling is a joke.
