To start, this title company was set up for us by our realtor, and it was not communicated to us that we had the option of selecting a different title company ( as first time home buyers we were not aware of this ). So there consistently felt like a coordinated effort to take advantage of our lack of exposure to this area. Home buying is a stressful adventure to begin with. Michaels Title helped make the process as clear and organized as possible. Jill and Meredith make an awesome team; intelligent, responsive and experienced. I’m truly impressed. I had a difficult contract dealing with the lender and sellers, and the Michaels Team helped me above and beyond in every way they could. A great team, I can’t thank you guys enough! This company charged me as the seller an outrageous amount of money and the buyer paid much more than average as well. They charged us each $195 for FedEx which is outrageous. They also delayed closing twice because they were not prepared. There are many more companies that are more professional and ethical. Buyers, price out settlement company fees before choosing one, they are not all the same, some charge much less and will do a better job.
