Stopped in for seized front brakes. Michael was a great guy very informative on what was going on with my vehicle. The actual work done and customer service was not the issue I had. Michael was great and allowed me to make Payments as well. The thing I had a problem with was 1.) the fact that they had purchased the most expensive parts they could seemingly find. I read many reviews for mechanics in the Kalamazoo area before choosing Michael's Auto. I was unfortunately very disappointed. There was a fee of $52.50 for them to just look at my car, which I was informed of; however, I did not consent to them to work on my car. I received a call from them about 30 minutes after I dropped my car off, and was given a very very extreme estimate. I decided to take my car to another shop for a second estimate. Incredibly trustworthy. They make recommendations without being pushy i.e. "your car needs an oil cooler. It's an expensive part. For now, you can make sure your car doesn't overheat." The only mechanic I have found, thus far, that is consistently non-predatory. Fair prices, knowledgeable, and kind.
