He is nothing but a lier. His case manager stated that reunification is not therapy and it's not a diagnosis. That's why insurance company won't cover. They are rude, don't sign the contract as they can charge you what ever they want. Stay far from him.
Michael Altig is biased, negligent, unethical, and dishonest. Please read other reviews, as those who gave him one star are spot on. Michael, himself, is manipulative and lies to your face while aligning with the perpetrator, even requesting they have additional parenting time. If ever you have a concern with Michael Altig's conduct, please file a complaint with the Department of Health. This man needs to be sanctioned and he must have his license revoked, so he doesn't have the authority to damage additional families.
This man is an absolute disgrace. He hides behind the banner of Christian then attempts to play God. He places the lives of the innocent in danger and sides with the perpetrator. If you have children and you want to keep them protected and safe from their abusers. I am warning you DO NOT let them anywhere near this man or his practice he will do whatever he can to reunite abusers with their victims.
I am not one to leave negative reviews on anyone typically but I am writing this review in hopes of protecting other men or women coming out of domestic violence with children from having to go through what I just went through for the last year with Michael Altig of Northwest Psychology. If you are coming out of domestic violence and need a reunification counselor DO NOT use Michael Altig. If I could give a 0 star I would!!!! Working with Michael Altig was a complete disaster. On my opinion he is a disgrace to the reunification process.
This is the worst counselor in the history of counselors! If you have children and want to keep them safe keep them far away from this man. He'll lie, cover up abuse, and blame you for it all in the process. If you have any kind of family conflict he'll capitalize on that for his own personal gain and only leave you and your children hurting from it. 10/10 would not recommend if you don't want yourself or your children mentally abused!
