In 2000, Dr. Strongin was recommended to me for the ungodly pain I was dealing with every month and which I had been experienceing for 10 years at that point. He walked into the exam room, made NO eye contact with me, spent all of 7 minutes in the room, and then told me to, 'do some sit-ups for the pain.' I was a collegiate athlete at the time. 36 Years ago, I was sent to Dr. Strongin for high-risk removal of pelvic tumors, as I had been told they would burst within 6 weeks and I would die if they were not removed. I was stunned to be told by him that I was “ too high a risk, to go home and clean out (my)dresser, and make a will.” I went to another GYN oncologist, had the surgery, and am now 76. Shame on Dr. Strongin for putting potential mortality rate over medical care. Despite him, I have lived to raise my family and be blessed with grandchildren.
Dr. Strongin was my mother's OB for over 30yrs. 3yrs ago she complained of pelvic and abdominal pain, he dismissed it. During a sonogram the pain was so intense it couldn't be completed, yet he dismissed it again. For several months her symptoms were ignored. Finally a nurse urged her to go elsewhere, she did, and was immediately diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. She died August 2nd 2016. Perhaps if Dr. Strongin took more of an interest in his patients she might still be with us today.
Michael Strongin has been my doctor for 34 years and is the finest physician of any kind I've ever encountered. He is an extraordinary diagnostician, presents more than one option to treat a condition where possible, treats patients with respect and explains whatever a patient wants to know. There is no better OB/GYN that I know of.
Thorough, professional, experienced, warm.
Because he is not a doctor who presents all the facts, alternative, and empathy.
