Jan 2020 he performed a total spinal reconstruction. No side effects, no problems! Was a very long and difficult surgery. When they stood me up in the ICU, and I felt the floor beneath my feet I knew I was going to be OK!

Have had 2 successful spinal surgeries from this provider, Dr, Michael Chang, a few years later I have a new concern. Made appointment for new evaluation. I completed all required 'check-in' paperwork ahead of time, online. Upon arrival, receptionist confirmed my information as accurate. Confirmed that I had submitted all paperwork, She handed me a thick stack of 'new patient paperwork' to complete. I reminded her that I had completed all as requested, on-line. I found Dr Chang refreshing, straight forward and very informative, I have had 2 failed back surgery and he spent all the time I need to make my decision. He told me all the risks, the before and after details that I need to know and and answered my questions that I had. I am glad he is confident in his skills, Or I would not be going to him.

After being told by one surgeon that there was nothing they could do for me as I had a tethered spinal cord. I had been born with Spina Bifida and only found this out in my early sixties. Being told I would be in a wheel chair within the next 2 years, I knew I could not give up. I contacted Dr. Chang and he said he could help me. After a ten hour surgery where he straightened my spine as much as possible with titanium rods and screws from C2 to my sacrum, he gave me back my life, free from pain. Thank you Dr. Chang!!!

I went to see Dr. Chang's assistant about possible neck surgery after having my legs and arms go almost completely numb. His assistant saw an urgency and made an appointment for me to see Dr. Chang in a week. When I went back to see him he said that my spinal compression on my MRI looked just like any 50 year old women and that there was nothing wrong with me. Unfortunately, my mother has had a negative experience with Dr Chang. She and I, her daughter, met him for an initial consultation regarding a failed back fusion. He seemed a bit arrogant but confident he could "fix" my mother's back, or the current failed fusion. She agreed to have him do the surgery. We saw him that day, the day of surgery and the day she left the hospital but not ever again. Dr. Chang is the best surgeon for all things spine. He was wonderful explaining options and what each choice means long term. Excellent communication and great personality. I would trust him for any spine surgery.

Dr Chang was knowledgable and to the point, covering my condition and the ways to address it in easy to understand terms. He made me feel comfortable and I trust him to handle my health issues with my best interest in mind.

Dr. Chang previously did a four level fusion on my back. During this tough time of Covid, getting face-to-face time with your doctor for explanation and assistance on other issues means a lot. He takes the time to explain everything I need to know and I truly appreciate his kindness while doing so. I recommend him to anyone.
