I underwent Laminectomy surgery on the 2sd of July 2026. All of the staff from the registration desk to the final discharge transport team to the parking area went above and beyond to make sure my experience was a pleasant experience. I would recommend the facilities and staff to anyone BC
I made the choice after injuring myself to go to Kootenai. I was in severe pain. My wife and daughter were told I needed immediate surgery (Dr Raber) at this point although I was in pain I could easily walk. I do not remember much but when surgery was done I was nearly paralyzed. My left leg was blown up like a giant balloon incredible pain. I went to Kootenai emergency they drew 20cc of fluid, all they said was, "well it's not gout." At my after care he was a no show. My husband has spent the last year fighting cancer. Three weeks ago he experienced what we thought was a stroke. As it turned out, it was a brain tumor. We came to Kootenai Hospital emergency room where by chance the on call surgeon was Dr. Raber. He confirmed a diagnosis from another hospital, and scheduled surgery for the next day.
