My eyesight was progressively getting worse, and soon I would not be able to drive legally! I love to take road trips all over the country, and I drive by myself mostly!! It's hard to put into words exactly just how satisfied I am with the results of the SMILE surgery Dr. Merkley performed. It was quick, painless and the results were immediately noticeable. It's hard to write a review about an experience that has truly changed someone's life for the better without getting emotional, but I'll try my best. I am highly myopic (> -18 in both eyes), over 50 years old, and developed cataracts earlier than most because of my high myopic prescription. The strange thing is, I didn't realize how much the cataracts had impacted my vision until after I had the surgery (more on that later).
