Dr Martin is a very good Dr. He has a calming nature. He explained my situations and all my different test results openly, answered my questions and addressed my anxieties. A previous Neurosurgeon I'd met left me feeling uncomfortable with his aggressive mannerisms. I have recommended Dr Martin at least a few times because I trust in him.

After two surgeries (Different Surgeon) in the same L4/L5 -L5/S1 left side that left Staf infection festering in my back for 3 months that resulted in paralyzing Muscle spasms, Dr Martin Immediately had me admitted and the next day did an exploratory surgery because my MRI could only indicate a mass in the same trauma area. He discovered more disc material left from previous surgeon and a mass of infection. Being a smart, knowledgeable Specialist, Dr Martin enlisted the Infectious Disease team to grow cultures and create a s... read more

Very Personal & attentive to my needs as a 12yr C5-C6 SCI diagnosed w/others had missed.. We went over MRI’s together, and was straight with me about removing my hardware would destroy my vertebrae and leave me worse than I was… Even though he said “never wanted to operate on anybody as much as you, just because you’ve been dealing with that pain so long” but as we both agreed after thorough talk outcome of surgery would be not to my benefit. Love Surgeons’ that don’t want to operate 1st. I Trust him implicitly.

The very first visit I had with Dr. Martin I knew I wanted him to perform my surgery. He treated me warmly during every visit and openly listened, understood, and provided helpful feedback along various possible avenues I could take to fix my problem. Along with recommending the one he saw as a best fit for my circumstances. I had my surgery done by him today, but after almost 10 years of constant back pain. I'm finally not. Don't get me wrong, I just had surgery and am definitely in pain, but it's a completely different typ... read more

Dr Martin took the time to answer all of my questions and address all of my concerns. He did everything I asked him to do, including tests that previous doctor felt unnecessary. The ONLY complaint I have is with his assistant, who is friendly enough, but very unprofessional in that she never returned a single phone call over months of trying to get in touch with her.

He did a surgery on mi to fix my shunts, glade he did that to, but he seems really cold, unapproachable. Wasn't impressed with his bed side manners.

I was diagnosed with an inoperable spinal tumor which had left me a paraplegic. Dr. Martin figured out a way to remove it and repair my spine. After five years I now have 100% mobility. He's my hero and a great guy too.

Never got to see him. Only his PA. Ordered another MRI that basically was pointless. He and his PA cancelled my follow up appointment because they deemed anything surgical unnecessary just because my back is stable, but it's ok that I'm in excruciating pain. He canceled my appointment by information he read on a chart and basically dismissed me and my concerns and problems.
