Prior to my posterior C1 /C2 I was not able to turn my head in any direction. I went to HSS had 2 blocks from 2 different doctors.I was given a foam collar which I wore about 18 hours daily. I was referred to Dr. Smith and had my surgery on March 14,2024. Approximately one week after surgery I cannot touch my scalp, brush my hair, even the slightest movement of my hair gives me horrible scalp pains. I barely sleep. I need answers please. Arrogant stay away from him
Recently underwent successful spinal fusion with Dr. Smith at NYU Langone Hospital. The care and attention I received from Dr. Smith and his entire team was second to none. What was so impressive was his availability and follow-up after the surgery. A great Doctor!

Doctor don't explain much I have a spinal problems he recommend physical therapy physical therapy. Don't do anything. I went for physical therapy for years till my insurance stop paying for it ,and I tried to tell him he don't wanna listen to anything. I don't think he's really interesting about cure anybody maybe he's good for somebody for me. He's no good for nothing and I'm gonna find myself a real doctor.
I can’t thank Dr Smith and his team ( McKenzie and Dana) enough for saving my husband! My husband always had a little pain in his lower back but after jumping four stairs, he wasn’t able to sit or stand for like 3 mounts. We started with PT and a sport doctors, and also he got the Cortisone shot! But nothing helped and everything we did made it worst! And I have to add this that my husband moved here a month before all of this terrible things happening! So he didn’t have insurance and everything we did it was out of pocket! ... read more
