I was inpatient for a severe condition and had an anaphylactic reaction to medication that went unreconized by staff. Dr Mastrangelo was called in to preform an emergency procedure on me and reconized what was happening. My BP was 234/232 by that time. He actually yelled at the hospitalist asking why I was still on this med telling them to stop giving it to me. I will give Dr. Mastrangelo 5 stars for the surgical repair of my hernia, it seems to have turned out well. As for his communication I wasn't as pleased....maybe 2 stars. On both visits he spent very little time with me....maybe 5 minutes. I never saw that he had a nurse...just a receptionist. He asked me what type of surgery I wanted (laproscopic, robotic, etc). I told him that he needs to tell me as he is the doctor. He also did not seem to have much understanding for patients who are in good physical condition and want to... read more

Dr. Mastrangelo was knowledgable and patient with all of my questions and concerns. Plus, he was very accommodating to a last minute hiccup at the Bend hospital and follow-up in Redmond. My open surgery for a double hernia/abdominal wall reconstruction was a success overall and I'm so grateful for his help!

Doc M is amazing! I have been an OR Nurse for many years and reluctantly needed to have a LARGE, complicated hernia (Named him Herman he was so big!). I put if off for a loooooong time, but I got referred to Dr M by Dr Archer and he and his staff are amazing, they are so kind and knowledgeable and talked with me, and addressed my level of understanding as well as my families. I would recommend he and his office without hesitation ! St Charles was a great hospital system and I was very well taken care of!

Dr. Mastrangelo performed a laparoscopic repair of my inguinal hernia with excellent results. I am now over 3 years post-op and the repair is still holding. I do regular core body work outs and remain pain free. His office staff is outstanding. Highly recommended.

I came to Dr. Mastrangelo for a second opinion about my inguinal hernia. I'm so glad I did. He took the time to answer all of my questions and explained to me what would happen with the surgery. He put my mind at ease and I felt very comfortable about having him fix me. He prescribed Physical Therapy pre and post surgery which helped ease all the discomfort I was having from the hernia and it made my recovery fast and painless. I had a inguinal hernia with spermatic cord strangulation and was in pain. Whitney was able to to get me in that next week and was able to get surgery done the following week. I appreciate everything that you guys did and am doing great. Thankyou so much!!
