Dr Boothby himself was very helpful in explaining the condition I had, torn meniscus in two places, it turned out. But during surgery he uses a tourniquet, which is not used by people much anymore, and I came to because of the pain. It turns out the anesthetist had not given me enough even though I told him redheads needed more. And he had agreed! Sees me for my shoulders. Great, caring, fast & friendly. I won't see anyone else.
He did surgery on my husband several years ago and it was a success but my experience has been anything but successful. I had tried physical therapy as well as being seen in the emergency room for extreme pain in my shoulder and was given pain meds and anti inflammatory meds too. I had x-rays done by another doctor and presented with those to my appointment. From there on it went drastically downhill...His staff was so incompetent that they couldn't even manage to give me an order for an MRI for the shoulder that was in pain... read more
I saw Dr Boothby around 10-14 years ago. I tore my Right bicep, Right labrum and Right rotator cuff. He asked me what hadn’t I done to my shoulder. He operated on me and I can’t throw as hard as I once did but I haven’t hurt since he operated on my shoulder. He is a fantastic surgeon.
