I scheduled an appointment with this doctor two weeks in advance and even received three separate confirmation calls from the clinic. Then, just an hour and a half before my appointment, the office called to cancel, citing that the doctor had an “emergency surgery.” Having worked in healthcare myself, I know this is often a common excuse when a doctor doesn’t want to accept certain insurance plans or is running behind schedule. Dr. Cooney is hands down the best ophthalmologist . Very professional and gives very practical solutions. Went to see him for Dry eyes and his recommendations really helped. His office staff is highly professional too.
Dr Cooney is by far the most knowledgeable and experienced doctor I’ve ever met and yet with all his experience he’s very careful and thorough.Very attentive, understanding and shows so much empathy. he’s super honest and straight to the point. A national treasure.
Dr Cooney is probably one of the best doctors I have ever seen. When he came into the room he sat down and we had a regular conversation about things other than why I was there. And by doing so, he gave me a sense of who he is as a person (which is great,) and made me as comfortable as I could be given how nervous I was, with regard to why I was there.
