The office couldn't even return my phone call about insurance status.
Dr. Bateman was recommended to me by two separate physicians and from my very first appointment with him and his staff I knew I had made the right decision to have my reconstructive surgery with him. Short story for why Dr Bateman and his crew are the best: Found out I had BRCA1, while trying to make a tough decision of getting a preventative mastectomy or just testing for cancers every 6 months… I went to a different Dr who said I would only be able to do one type of surgery, that I wouldn’t get to keep my nipples and that was that as if there was no other way. Unfortunately I did not get anywhere close to the results I had hoped for with my surgery with Dr. Bateman. I will be having another surgery with another doctor as soon as I can. Until then, I just have to live with it.
Unwilling to work with insurance to provide procedure covered as medically necessary gender affirming care, even though they are in network and I have a letter from my insurance company listing it as a procedure they will cover.
