I shattered my right (dominant) wrist in January 2024. Dr. Baskies immediately scheduled me for surgery. My wrist was shattered so badly that I could not even lift a coffee cup for twelve weeks. I worked hard in physical therapy and my wrist is great! I highly recommend Dr. Baskies. He answers any questions you have, him and his staff was always available to address any questions or concerns I had, he worked directly with my physical therapist to make sure I had a great outcome.
I met with Dr. Baskies after having seen other physicians for a hand problem. He is knowledgeable to a great extent. But his thought process regarding my issue and how to treat it was misguided. I found him to have an attitude and while he did answer questions he was dismissive and told me that I would have to live with the problem. Essentially he offered no hope. Thankfully this is not a life and death problem and there are other well qualified practitioners who are happy to help without the poor 'bedside' manner.
I was referred to Dr Baskies through my Primary care physician after a fall on my left wrist. Dr. Baskies never touched my arm or reviewed my x-ray with me. He was 15 minutes late to the appointment and spent 10 minutes lecturing me about my poor decision to come to his office since he had not performed my original wrist surgery nine years ago. He berated my surgeon and told me it was 'laughable' that I had not gone back to see her. I attempted to tell him several times that I heard his message. He did not listen and continu... read more
He is a complete unprofessionalHe came to my room for 5 seconds and told me I have a cyst and live my lifeWhat a total waste of timeNo respect no bed side manners no options of treatmentIt is shameful to treat people like thatWill never go back
I arrived with a cyst on my finger about to burst, he didn't even look at my hand, he just said leave it alone that there is nothing to do and he left and left me alone in the office without me knowing what to do. He is a strange person without compassion.
Took my young daughter who had fallen & broken/dislocated her thumb. we were worried about ligament or other damage. Dr. Baskies was kind, caring, gentle, professional, He listened to our concerns & was very reassuring & Patient to both our daughter & us. I can't understand the negative reviews. our experience was the polar opposite! Would not hesitate to recommend Dr Baskies to anyone!!
What stinks about reviews are that people don't consider the fact that these are human beings and they are entitled to bad days. Not only that, but, some of you I am sure were obnoxious. Dr. Baskies was awesome. Highly recommend.
Very to the point , knows what he is doing. His staff is very kind. He also went out if his way to call me on a Sunday during a snowstorm to explain how and when he can get me in for my thumb shots. Very good and strong cause its painful
Excellent. Dr. Baskies gets right to the problem, made the proper diagnosis and treated it appropriately. I have been treated twice before by other hand surgeons for same problem. This doctor knows what he is doing. I did not expect him to hold my hand, as some of the other commentaries suggest, nor did I expect him to make promises that require clairvoyance. Being a pediatrician myself, he was all I expected him to be asa hand surgeon.
