Asked for a quote for EICR. Was told can only give quote on site. £50 call out charge if not happy with quote. Took some time to get this information. I was then abruptly cut off when I challenged this. I called back to confirm it was them who called and they said yes it was and then gave me a quote which was much more expensive than elsewhere, if I’d gone ahead I would either be looking at losing £50 or paying a high price for the job. To do a EICR check, Call out fee of £60. Then they do the check at an extra cost. Then, if anything needs to be done. They’ll charge more. Don’t mind paying to do the EICR check or any work that needs to be done, BUT, I will not pay a £60 call out fee for doing nothing!!!! Disgraceful way to run things !!!!!????
I had an initial issue with the first callout. I received a call from David at MIB saying they would put the situation right, and this may have been a miscommunication by the the engineer, which I appreciate. The second engineer fixed the issue with the window switch and it’s all working now. Well resolved in the meantime end.
