Be careful with Mex Rent a Car at LAX. They force you to buy a “loss of use” insurance at $25 per day, even if you already have insurance from your credit card or personal policy. “Loss of use” means they charge you for their lost rental income if a car is in the shop after damage. This fee is not disclosed when you book, and most major U.S. rental companies don’t require it. It ends up making your rental much more expensive than advertised. Very misleading and unfair practice.
I rented there cars before some years ago and it was ok. I had a booking over Expedia and insurance coverage the lady asked for $70 more for a small car for one day and wanted to have $2000 USDollar for one day This place turned into a serious fraud do not go there anymore I did go to Avis next door and all was ok Avoid MEX Rental car in Tijuana I have rented on all locations there cars but this was the worst experience in over 7 years
Many reviews like this, beware of this rental agency, when you make a reservation they don´t include al the mandantory cost, when you arrive for your surprise they say you need a mandatory liability insurance and loss damage waiver, either you pay or they will not let take the car or you have to give a 4000 dollars deposit. When i contact expedia for this, they send this mail so take your cautions, they are fraudulent.
DO NOT GO HERE. Prices online don't include a "credit card deposit of 1000" non-refundable initial deposit even with insurance. Ended up eating the cost of the booking, and went to SIXT. Better company go there. AVOID THIS PLACE.
