The small triangular park is located in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn. It was dedicated in 1989 to the Italian born inventor Antonio Meucci. Local Italian residents requested the City of New York create the designation with a granite monument. This site has added significance because the prior New York Telephone building and renamed Verizon building is directly adjacent to West 12th Street next to the park.
