Our Chocolate Lab, Oliver, grabbed some raw/frozen hamburgers set out to thaw. When doing so he ingested some of the plastic and paper package as well as most of the absorbent pad under the burgers. I called Metropolitan Veterinary Clinic as our own vet could not take him in due to another emergency. Even though it would be about 2 hrs since he ate the burgers and plastic, they said bring him in ASAP and they recommended making him vomit as they felt it was early enough vs the risk of developing a blockage. Caring and understanding for our sweet boy’s health and life.
The exotics vet staff are very kind and knowledgeable, and I appreciate the care my rabbit has received here. However, lately there has been a lack of service when it comes to contacting and scheduling with the exotics department and I’m not sure what’s going on. I’ve been bringing in my senior rabbit who I adopted from a neglect situation since early this year.
