I contacted Metro North Sexual Health Service by phone to urgently request access to PEP following a high-risk exposure. Despite being within the 72-hour eligibility window, my request was dismissed without a clear or medically justified explanation. They only see people by appointment. If you turn up without one they will assume that you want to jump the queue and treat you rather strangely. At any rate finding a good GP who specialises in sexual health is likely a better option. They won’t just be treating your sexual health, they will be helping you in a variety of ways and it’s what’s worked for me.
The Govt needs to do better. In my experience you are better to visit a GP, as you can experience significant wait times for appointments and even worse for an actual treatment should you have anything.
