Back in 2010 I had outpatient elbow surgery at Baptist Hospital. I woke up to find that one of my front teeth was broken out. I had to guess that it was caused by being intubated. To perform this procedure, they use what is called a laryngoscope. This is a metal tool (basically its a crow bar) designed to properly insert the breathing tube.
