Took my husband in early morning on a weekday and there were only a couple of other patients in waiting area so we did not have to wait long. The nurse that checked us in was nice and doctor had great bedside manner. It did take well over an hour to get some pain medication despite my husband throwing up multiple times from excruciating pain. A CT scan was performed which went smoothly. My recent visit to the ER to check on my father-in-law was unacceptable. Despite being there to get information about a patient, I was completely ignored by the front desk staff. Ironically, the only people willing to assist were the officers on duty — not the medical personnel. Even worse, I witnessed a woman arrive in obvious, severe pain, and instead of offering immediate help, the nurse at the desk focused on entering information into the computer. The Sonogram Tech was awesome, the Dr. was great, the 1st nurse was good. There was a shift change and we were assigned a different nurse. Never saw her while we were waiting on the test results. She walked into the room after an hour and said, Ok, you can leave now... No introduction, no how do you feel... I had to ask about the results and she said, everything's fine here's your paperwork and stood by the door. I had to ask her if she could remove the I.V, BP cuff and oxygen monitor. I brought my wife in because she had a seizure/stroke that caused her the inability to speak for a while. She has had ongoing tremors and is scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday. However, this emergency that took her voice is what brought us to the ED. The nurse in triage at that time kept telling everyone it will be 3-4 hours.
