Just over 2 years ago I walked into Merrill Gardens - Renton, for a tour. And it happened to be on a Saturday morning which is donut-day. My reaction was a combination of happiness and sadness. Happiness at the sight of the residents lined up and teasing the person handing out the donuts (trying to finagle more donuts) and just the playful banter. Shirley Thompson the manager is horrible!! She is very confrontational and rude.
My mom fully enjoyed her time at Merrill Gardens. She had a wonderful community of residents, staff & medical providers. The staff is professional, sincere, caring & go the extra mile for each resident & their families. The place is very welcoming, clean, smells good & feels like a very nice hotel. My mom loved her delicious breakfasts in particular, fresh baked goods & fresh fruit cups. We just attended the Thanksgiving gathering/dinner at Merrill Gardens yesterday. It was fun, festive and the food was fantastic. All the staff from the top down are on hand greeting people when they walk in, serving, and circulating saying hello to the residents and their families. I can’t say enough positives about this place. It was one year ago that our family was searching for a new home for my sister. I am so glad we/she landed at Merrill Gardens!
